Additive effect in salt bath for glass strengthening
نویسندگان
چکیده
We introduce the additives effect in molten salts such as commercially pure KNO3 and polluted KNO3. The results showed that case of commercial purity KNO3, only KOH improved compressive stress (CS) ion-exchanged glasses up to ∼50 MPa, others did not make CS improvement. Rather than was diminished by additive contamination. In contaminated K3PO4, K2CO3, K2SO4 successfully removed impurities, Na+, Ca2+, Mg2+, precipitating chemical compounds bath recovered ∼97 %. X-ray diffraction (XRD) proved how harmful ions salt adding additives.

Mephedrone ("bath salt") pharmacology: insights from invertebrates.
Psychoactive bath salts (also called meph, drone, meow meow, m-CAT, bounce, bubbles, mad cow, etc.) contain a substance called mephedrone (4-methylcathinone) that may share psychostimulant properties with amphetamine and cocaine. However, there are only limited studies of the neuropharmacological profile of mephedrone. The present study used an established invertebrate (planarian) assay to test...
متن کاملCompeting Indentation Deformation Mechanisms in Glass Using Different Strengthening Methods
Chemical strengthening via ion exchange, thermal tempering, and lamination are proven techniques for the strengthening of oxide glasses. For each of these techniques, the strengthening mechanism is conventionally ascribed to the linear superposition of the compressive stress (CS) profile on the glass surface. However, in this work, we use molecular dynamics simulations to reveal the underlying ...
متن کاملAdditive Manufacturing of Optically Transparent Glass
We present a fully functional material extrusion printer for optically transparent glass. The printer is comprised of scalable modular elements, able to operate at the high temperatures required to process glass from a molten state to an annealed product. We demonstrate a process enabling the construction of 3D parts as described by Computer Aided Design (CAD) models. Processing parameters such...
متن کاملModification of EN9 Steel Surface by Salt Bath Nitrocarburizing Process
Nitrocarburizing is a thermochemical treatment which involves the diffusional addition of nitrogen and carbon to the surface of ferrous materials. Usually carried out at temperatures within the ferritic phase field of the Fe-N-C system, i.e. below 593 °C, the treatment improves the resistance to scuffing through the development of a compound layer at the surface consisting predominantly of epsi...
متن کاملAnomalous decoherence effect in a quantum bath.
Decoherence of quantum objects in noisy environments is important in quantum sciences and technologies. It is generally believed that different processes coupled to the same noise source have similar decoherence behaviors and stronger noises cause faster decoherence. Here we show that in a quantum bath, the case can be the opposite. We predict that the multitransition of a nitrogen-vacancy cent...
